A farm-to-cup cocktail inspired by locally sourced ingredients, celebrating Day 4 of the Friends of the Farms Fall Fundraising Drive.   • Day 4 – Fig-Infused Black Manhattan

    • Ingredients:

      • 2 oz Bourbon (or whiskey of your choosing)

      • 1/2 oz Amaro Mele

      • 1/2 oz Fig syrup (see instructions below)

      • Garnish: Fig

    • Instructions:

      • Mix all ingredients in a large mixing glass, add ice, and stir for 10 seconds, or until chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe glass (without ice) and garnish with a halved fig.

    • Making the Fig syrup:

      • Bring 1 cup of demerara sugar, ½ cup water, and 1 dozen figs to a boil. Stir until the sugar starts to dissolve and the figs begin to soften. Mash the figs in the solution, remove from heat, and allow to sit for an additional 30 minutes. Strain out solids and let chill before using.
